The Nike training app features workouts designed by professional athletes to help users get fit fast.
As part of a large-scale app redesign, Design Lobby’s Founder was embedded in an agency design team to iteratively test and make recommendations to improve all aspects of users’ interactions and in-session training content.
Scope of work: Testing and recommending opportunities for improvements for ongoing redesigns. (iPhone, Android)
Contextual lab observation
What we did
We conducted usability tests each design sprint and ran ad hoc contextual labs to explore customers’ understanding of in-session content.
Aligning with the design team’s sprints, we conducted usability sessions every few weeks and provided near immediate feedback and recommendations to improve users’ experiences. In addition, we ran contextual labs in which we observed participants doing the training routines. This provided insight into users’ understanding of specific exercises, trainer instructions and other in-session interactions.
The app has a 4.8 star rating in the App Store and is featured as an “Editor’s Choice”.
